Welcome to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho – known for its breathtaking views and unique dining experiences! Whether you’re visiting or a local seeking an unforgettable meal, there are many amazing restaurants located downtown. 

From pizza joints to steakhouses, there is something for everyone. Each restaurant serves a unique combination of flavors and décor to make your dining experience one-of-a-kind! 

Eating out in Coeur d’Alene has never been more exciting and delicious. In this article, we’ll share some of the best restaurants downtown for you to explore!

1. Bardenay Restaurant & Distillery

Bardenay Restaurant & Distillery is an American bar that specializes in comfort foods. It’s reasonably priced and open from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM. 

The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, with a big wooden cabin-like design inside. The service was decent but could use some improvements, in my opinion. 

The ambiance of Bardenay Restaurant & Distillery is very cozy and inviting. There’s even a great view overlooking the river! The waiters and bartenders are polite enough, although the service could be faster. 

You should try Bardenay’s Fish and Chips, as well as their delicious Quinoa Burger. They also have a good selection of local beers and hand-crafted cocktails to choose from. All in all, it’s worth the visit for an enjoyable night out!

2. Crafted Tap House + Kitchen

Crafted Tap House + Kitchen is an American bar that specializes in salads and beer, open 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM. It is reasonably priced and has a great spot in the city. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, with a modern design inside. The staff is attentive when they need to be but could also use some improvement at times, too – nothing major, though. 

The atmosphere and ambiance of this place are really nice, with plenty of space for everyone to relax. It’s got a fairly convenient location, so it makes the perfect spot if you’re looking for great food that won’t break your bank either! The servings they offer are generous too. 

Crafted Tap House & Kitchen has some delicious options, such as its Number 42 Burger and Crawfish Chowder. The dishes have all the flavor you expect, plus a great surprise of fresh ingredients! All in all, it’s an amazing place to visit for anyone looking to try new flavors or just hang out with friends.

3. Collective Kitchen

Collective Kitchen is an American restaurant that specializes in comfort foods, open 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. It’s affordably priced and a decent spot in the city with both indoor and outdoor seating.

The place has a small and cozy feel to it, with a modern design inside. The service is great, as the waiters were friendly and attentive. Fish Tacos and Bacon Wrapped Figs are must-tries in my opinion! 

Collective Kitchen also offers a wide selection of meals, ranging from sandwiches to salads. There are even options for vegetarian and gluten-free diners! All in all, it’s one spot you don’t want to miss out on if you’re looking for good comfort food that won’t cost too much. 

4. Dockside Restaurant

Dockside Restaurant is an American restaurant that specializes in comfort foods and salads, open from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM. It is slightly pricey but worth the experience. There is a wonderful nature view of water and it makes for great sunsets right at the restaurant. 

The indoor & outdoor seating in Dockside Restaurant is very comfortable and homely. It has a sophisticated design inside and good enough service. The menu includes traditional American classics like Prime Rib and Clam Chowder but also some healthy options so everyone can find something they’ll enjoy here. 

If you’re looking for an elegant place with top-notch comfort food & drinks, then Dockside Restaurant is your best option!

5. Caton Asian Restaurant

Canton is a Chinese and Korean restaurant, open from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. It’s reasonably priced for what you get. The spot has indoor seating only, and it is fairly small and cozy with a simple design inside.

The service at Canton could use some improvement, but the staff is friendly. The ambiance of this spot may be small, but it’s homey and relaxing. 

I recommend you try their Orange Chicken and Crab Rangoon for a delightful experience! They have other great dishes like Egg Rolls or Broccoli Beef – all very delicious! Canton is definitely a spot to consider on your next night out.

6. Sweet Lou’s Restaurant & Tap House

Sweet Lou’s Restaurant & Tap House is an American restaurant that has great burgers and tacos, open from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM. It’s reasonably priced for what you get. There’s a decent view of the river and indoor and outdoor seating, making it a fairly large place. 

There are TVs on the walls playing sports, and overall good service to make it a great experience for all! Their Tailgate Egg Rolls and Western Burger come highly recommended.

The ambiance of Sweet Lou’s Restaurant & Tap House is cozy and laid back. The employees are friendly, accommodating, and helpful when it comes to ordering their delicious dishes. There’s a pleasant atmosphere that makes you feel welcome the minute you walk in the door. 

The food served at Sweet Lou’s is nothing short of delicious! From their juicy burgers to their crisp tacos, it’s definitely worth every penny. The spices and flavors are just right – not too overwhelming, but enough flavor for your taste buds to appreciate what they’re trying out! Give it a try if you want an enjoyable night out on the town with friends or family.

7. Le Peep

Le Peep is a restaurant that has some of the best breakfasts in Coeur d’Alene, open from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM. It’s slightly pricey, but the view of the river and the great sunrise make up for it. 

The restaurant has a large indoor area with plenty of seating and outdoor tables to sit at too! Service is good here as well. I recommend trying their Eggs Benedict or Stuffed French Toast when you visit!

The atmosphere at Le Peep can be quite crowded during peak hours, so if possible, try going in off-peak times instead – this way, you avoid long waiting periods between ordering your food and getting it on the table. But even though it can get hectic inside, the waitresses remain polite and helpful. 

The food at Le Peep is delicious: big portions of breakfast favorites, from their Eggs Benedict to their Rock Lobster Scramble, even vegan options too! The prices are a bit higher than your average diner, but you won’t regret ordering from here for sure. Highly recommended spot for great breakfasts just by the river!

8. Moon Time

Moon Time is an American bar that has some of the best burgers in town. The prices are very affordable, and they’re open from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Inside, there’s plenty of seating with dimmed lighting – providing a nice atmosphere while you eat your meal and drink a beer. 

The service at Moon Time is good and attentive – the wait staff is always happy to take care of your needs. The food selection and quality are good value for money, with specialty burgers such as the Lamb Burger or Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich being particularly tasty! 

Overall, Moon Time is a great place to visit, with tasty food and good service at fair prices. The atmosphere inside the restaurant makes it feel like you’re in an actual home-like dining setting – allowing for lots of conversation between friends. 

9. Capone’s Pub & Grill

Capones Pub & Grill is an American bar that has some of the best chicken wings in town. They’re open from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM and reasonably priced for what you get. The inside of Capones is medium-sized, with a lot of decorations on the walls, as well as indoor and outdoor seating. 

The atmosphere of Capones Pub & Grill is casual and relaxed. The waiters are friendly, helpful, and attentive to your needs. The food presentation was also quite nice – the burgers looked tasty! 

Capones’ Boneless Wings and Chicken wings were delicious! They have a good selection when it comes to drinks too, you won’t be disappointed. In short, this is a great restaurant for people who love wings!

10. Jimmy’s Down the Street

Jimmy’s Down the Street is an American diner that serves delicious breakfasts, open from 6:30 AM to 2:00 PM. The prices aren’t anything insane – fairly average. The restaurant offers indoor seating and a small-sized cozy place with plenty of seats.

The atmosphere at Jimmy’s Down The Street is friendly but casual. It has an old-fashioned charm that makes it inviting right from when you walk in the door. Service was very efficient – your food will come to you fast. 

The food was also fantastic. The Pecan Roll and Chicken Fried Steak were especially delicious. Overall, it is one of the best places for breakfast around Coeur d’Alene, with great service and reasonably priced dishes!

11. Honey Eatery and Social Club

Honey Eatery and Social Club is a restaurant that serves delicious comfort foods, open from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. It’s slightly priced for what you get, offering both indoor seating as well as some outdoor seats. The restaurant is large and cozy, with a sophisticated and elegant design that makes it very inviting.

The atmosphere at Honey Eatery and Social Club is very pleasant. The employees tend to be attentive, courteous, and friendly so that the customers are always comfortable. They take time to provide great customer service! 

The food is just as amazing. Their signature dish is the $24 Honey Fried Chicken, and you can’t go wrong with their $18 Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich, either. Both dishes are very well seasoned as they use fresh ingredients for each item on the menu.

12. Izzy’s Comfort Kitchen

Izzy’s Comfort Kitchen is a small restaurant that offers delicious comfort foods. They’re open from 11:00 AM to 8:30 PM and closed Mondays and Tuesdays. They are affordably priced for what you get. It has an intimate vibe inside with plenty of seating, which gives it a home-like feel. 

The service at Izzy’s Comfort Kitchen is top-notch. All of the staff are friendly and make you feel welcome. It’s the perfect place to come for a cozy dinner with family, friends, or loved ones!

The food at Izzy’s Comfort Kitchen is quite impressive too. Their Grilled Chicken Sandwich ($14) was delicious as were their Peach Bourbon BBQ Burger ($15). The menu even offers vegan options so everyone can enjoy it! All-in-all, I highly recommend visiting this charming restaurant when in Coeur d’Alene.
