Help send 114 local foster kids to camp this summer by running or walking in the Foster Kids 5K on August 17th at 9am in Redmond’s beautiful Marymoor Park. This race is a fun, family friendly race and all proceeds go directly to Hope Alliance for Kids.
Hope Alliance for Kids offers three overnight summer camps for children and teens who have been abandoned, abused, neglected and placed in the foster care system through no fault of their own. These children often feel rejected, experience low self-esteem and have a difficult time with trust.
Hope Alliance for Kids makes a difference for foster kids by providing camps that offer a safe environment full of compassion, encouragement and praise. Kids are given the opportunity to build self-esteem through success oriented activities like horseback riding, a challenge course, drama, arts & crafts, archery, canoeing, fishing and woodworking.
Children 12 and under are FREE (but still need to register to get a race packet). Dogs and baby joggers are welcome. Registration closes at midnight on August 15th. Register by July 4th for $25 (normal $30). Pick up a coupon for an additional $5 off at Pine Lake Club or Plateau Runner!
Register and get more information online at FosterKids 5k.
