Richmond, British Columbia, is a haven for food lovers everywhere. Located in an area with breathtaking views, this city shines with its rich traditions, lively scene, and food.

Whether you are looking for upscale restaurants that’ll impress or charming local spots, Richmond has something for everyone.

Now, let’s dive into the top 18 restaurants in Richmond, BC:

1. Nobi Nobi

Address: 11320 Steveston Hwy Unit 130, Richmond, BC V7A 5J5, Canada

Nobi Nobi Obanzai, operating from 11:00 AM to 07:30 PM, is a haven for Japanese food lovers in Richmond.

As you step inside, you’re greeted by a calming ambiance – warm lighting, soft music in the background, and comfortable seating that makes you feel right at home.

The soup is filled with deep flavor, and the beef is tender and well-cooked. The chicken karaage and the foie gras come highly recommended and are crowd favorites.

However, a slight hiccup is a waiting time – dishes might take a little longer to arrive, approximately 20 minutes. The warm and friendly staff ensures each guest feels welcomed, though.

2. Hei Hei Rice Roll

Address: 2430-8260 Westminster Hwy, Richmond, BC V6X 1A7, Canada

Hei Hei Rice Roll, nestled in the Richmond Public Market, is a popular fast food joint operating from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

The interior, while modest, has an energetic and busy vibe typical of food courts. As you enter, bright lights, the hum of chattering customers, and the tempting aroma of freshly cooked rice rolls surround you.

Rice rolls here are genuinely one of the best. While the congee has received appreciation, some find an occasional aftertaste in the pork. The waiting time can stretch up to 50 minutes, and longer during peak hours. However, with the shopping options around, it’s actually not too long.

3. Micha

Address: 120-4751 Garden City Rd, Richmond, BC V6X 3M7, Canada

Micha, a Taiwanese gem in Richmond, operates from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM and offers an affordable dining experience.

Upon entering, you’re greeted with a comfortable seating arrangement, creating a soft environment that’s further uplifted by their attentive service.

When it comes to food, their menu, albeit with limited selections, promises exciting choices. While the black pepper sauce oozes in richness, the beef in the sliced beef sizzling plate seemed less high quality. In contrast, their Taiwanese fried chicken stands out for its light, crispy texture, and delicious taste.

Service stands out as a highlight, with meals being prepared with impressive speed, often within 5 to 10 minutes. The only downside is occasionally running out of popular items like pearls by the afternoon. So, while there might be a few misses, many find the overall experience at Micha satisfying.

4. Katsu San

Address: 6011 No 1 Rd Unit #110, Richmond, BC V7C 1T4, Canada

Katsu San, a specialized Tonkatsu restaurant in Richmond, operates from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM and is a bit pricier.

The ambiance is intimate, with a smaller space often seeing a full house. While some may feel the proximity of the tables is too close, the lively atmosphere only underscores the restaurant’s popularity.

The restaurant’s katsu dishes are some of the best in the area. The meat is tender, and the fried batter is crispy, with the cheese katsu receiving particular praise. Foodies also enjoy the unlimited cabbage salad, constantly refilled by the attentive staff. Complimentary green tea adds to the overall dining experience.

The staff at this restaurant is very friendly and accommodating. They even use an elevator to bring the food up to the dining area. The chicken dish is delicious and tender, and many people love it. The Lahmajoun, which the restaurant is named after, has a distinct sour flavor that is strong, so it’ll only be good if you’re a fan of that kind of food.

However, the dining ambiance might be slightly marred by smoke coming from the kitchen’s grill, making take-out a more appealing option for some.

Address: 8391 Alexandra Rd #1170, Richmond, BC V6X 3W5, Canada

The Fish Man, open from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, is a seafood haven for the folks in the Richmond area.

The restaurant has a wide variety of seafood options, with fish sourced from their in-house tanks and nearby local sources. Some dishes may not be as fresh and a bit tough, but the steamed fish and crab with egg yolk are excellent. The crab dish may be too rice cake-heavy for some, but it depends on personal taste.

Cha Kee, located in Richmond and operating from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, stands as a beacon for all those craving authentic Cha chaan teng delicacies without bankrupting them.

The restaurant is busy during lunchtime and serves delicious Cha chaan teng cuisine. I love the satay beef with Nissin noodles and the spicy chicken noodle bowl with fried eggs and toast. The seasoning is just right, not too strong or too bland.

Though generally satisfactory, their service can sometimes be overshadowed by the long lines during peak hours. However, a notable mention is the staff’s flexibility in accommodating special requests. Whether it’s tweaking a noodle variety or making unlisted modifications, they’re up for the task, always serving with a smile.

The restaurant is always busy, so booking a table early is a good idea. The menu is not very extensive, but the food is high quality and worth the price. I love their dim sum, and the lobster dish is highly recommended.

The food is so good that you might forget to snap some photos while enjoying your meal.

Another crowd favorite is their satay chicken skewers, which, paired with the roti and beef, offer an array of unforgettable tastes. While many dishes are a hit, there are occasional misses, like the fried rice, which some find a touch too dry.
