The 10 Best Happy Hours in Kirkland

Post last updated September 4, 2023

Kirkland is a beautiful suburb just east of Seattle. If you’ve ever shopped at your neighborhood Costco, you’ve likely seen their “Kirkland Signature” store brand on various products. Well, it’s named after the city of Kirkland, Washington. Beyond the presence of Costco, Microsoft, Google, and Amazon, Kirkland has some of the best restaurants with happy hours in the greater Seattle area. Here are my top picks along with my two “must have” items at each happy hour!

The 10 Best Happy Hours in Kirkland:

  6. Volterra
  7. Vovina

1. BeachHouse Bar + Grill

Beach House Restaurant in Kirkl
The kalbi braised short rib isn’t available on happy hour but is an excellent dish

Address: 6023 Lake Washington Blvd NE, Kirkland, WA 98033

Located right on Lake Washington Boulevard, this waterfront restaurant can’t be ignored. If you’re lucky enough to grab a seat right by the windows, you’ll have some pretty epic views of Lake Washington. The interior has a SoCal beach feel creating a fun and relaxed atmosphere. The happy hour menu has a fantastic variety from soups and salads, to proteins and seafood.

Happy Hour: Daily from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Two Must Have Items: Pecan & Blue Salad – Kalbi Steak Skewers

2. Anthony’s HomePort

Address: 135 Lake Street S, Kirkland, WA 98033

Another restaurant located on the Lake Washington waterfront, Anthony’s is known for their fresh and locally sourced seafood. They pride themselves on serving the best that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. This particular Anthony’s in Kirkland was founded in 1975 and is their first of many locations throughout Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. Take in views of Lake Washington and the Seattle skyline while enjoying happy hour. Options include cocktails, wine specials, and sharable plates. One notable option is the 1/2 Dungeness crab that even comes with a bib and towel for easy clean up!

Happy Hour: Monday through Friday from 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM in the bar

Two Must Have Items: Northwest Manila Clams – Tempura Prawns

3. Flatstick Pub

Address: 15 Lake Street, Suite 100, Kirkland, WA 98033

Flatstick Pub makes our list more for their activities than their food menu. With a 9-hole mini golf course right in the pub, you’ll want to make sure you book a tee time on their website as it can be very busy depending on when you visit. They even offer a game called “duffleboard” invented by Flatstick Pub themselves. It’s a combination between mini golf and shuffleboard! Flatstick Pub isn’t known for their food (although, they do have pizza available as a food option), but the activities and the wide selection of local Washington beers on tap makes this one of my favorite places to hang out! They even offer a slightly modified happy hour called, “yappy hour” allowing their guest to enjoy the discounted prices for a little longer.

Happy Hour: Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Yappy Hour: Monday through Friday from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM and all day Sunday

Two Must Have Items: Mini Golf – A Pint of Dru Bru Hazy IPA

4. The Lodge Sports Grille

The Lodge in Kirkland
The Lodge’s poutine is a gut bomb, but it’s delicious!

Address: 107 Lake Street, Kirkland, WA 98033

If you’re looking for a relaxed atmosphere for happy hour and to catch a game, The Lodge Sports Grille is the right place for you. The interior is an all-wood with black trim design, and the bartop stretches almost the entire length of the room with multiple TVs displayed throughout. It’s your typical bar food menu but with higher quality than your local dive location. What I really like about The Lodge Sports Grille happy hour is how many options they provide throughout the week and throughout the day. See below for details.

Happy Hour: Monday through Friday from 2:30 PM – 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM – close | Saturday and Sundays from 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM and 9:00 PM – close

Two Must Have Items: Pickle Fries and Reuben Flat Bread

5. Vinason Pho Kitchen

Address: 499 Urban Plz, Kirkland, WA 98033

Tucked away in Kirkland’s newest development right off of Central Way, Vinason Pho Kitchen offers items straight from their main menu for happy hour. It’s a 50% off finger foods deal, so if you’re unsure, just ask your waiter for a little clarification. The best part? 50% off the beer and wine wall. You’ll see taps galore throughout the restaurant. How does it work? Tap the ox logo with your key, tilt your cup, and pour! It’s that simple. Vinason states, “our mission to support our local breweries has aligned with a model that allows you to taste a rotating menu from local breweries all at a one price fit all model”. Vinason not only supports Washington’s local breweries and vineyards but also focuses on securing fresh local and sustainable ingredients.

Happy Hour: Daily from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Two Must Have Items: Beer wall experience and Banh Mi Bites

6. Volterra

Address: 121 Kirkland Ave, Kirkland, WA 98033

Located just a block and a half off of the hustle and bustle of Lake Washington Blvd, Volterra is your neo-contemporary chic, yet rustic Italian restaurant. Known for their Tuscan-influenced cuisine, Volterra offers a sample of their main menu at their happy hour that will make you want more. Come for the happy hour, stay for dinner! Great spot for a date night!

Happy Hour: Daily from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM in the bar and outdoor seating areas (when available)

Two Must Have Items: Sparkling Blood Orange Citrus Drop and Lamb Meatballs

7. Vovina

Address: 15 Lake Street, Suite 103, Kirkland, WA 98033

Vovina makes our list for their amazing outdoor seating setup. Enjoy their heated patio with awning, fire tables, and water views. Perfect for those cold Kirkland evenings! Not feeling like sitting outside? No problem. Head inside and experience a warm and classic wood-furnished design with a large liquor and wine bar featuring a wide selection of high-end choices.

Happy Hour: Daily from 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM | Sunday through Thursday from 9:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Two Must Have Items: Old Fashioned and Truffle Tots

8. Isarn Thai Soul Kitchen

Address: 170 Lake Street S, Kirkland, WA 98033

Surrounded by dark wood and brick in a dimly lit space, Isarn Thai Soul Kitchen reminds me more of a whisky bar than a Thai restaurant. But don’t let the ambiance fool you as the food and drink brings plenty of color, flavor, and spice. It’s a small and cozy environment with friendly service. Specializing in traditional curries and noodle dishes, it’s a slight disappointment that they don’t have some of that on our happy hour menu. Yet, their happy hour menu is still much more expansive than you’ll find at many nearby restaurants. We highly recommend coming back for lunch or dinner if you enjoyed your happy hour experience.

Happy Hour: Daily from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Two Must Have Items: Isarn Mini Wings and Lychee Martini

9. Pub 85

Address: 12859 NE 85th St, Kirkland, WA 98033

Pub 85 is your neighborhood sports bar. You’ll often see large groups of coworkers and friends enjoying a happy hour after work, or your Seattle sports fan taking in a game. With plenty of space and TVs all around, it’s great for beers and your standard bar food. If you’re looking to fill up some growlers or even a keg, Pub 85 is your place. Pub 85 is the choice on our list that has a daily theme with their happy hour. Check out their menu here (look at the bottom of the second page) so you can see if one really calls out to you! They have trivia night on Wednesdays, karaoke on Thursdays, and live music on select Fridays and Saturdays.

Happy Hour: Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Two Must Have Items: Whiskey Wednesdays and Free Fries Fridays

10. Wing Dome

Address: 232 Central Way, Kirkland, WA 98033

Wing Dome has been the go-to chicken wing place since it first opened its doors in 1994. With four different locations in the greater Seattle area, it’s always been great that there was one right here in Kirkland on the Eastside! Drive west on Central Way and you can’t miss it. There’s patio seating on the outside and a bright fiery orange and red Wing Dome sign set against the black trim glowing at night. Nothing fancy here. It’s just a great place to grab wings, burgers, and some beer.

Happy Hour: Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Late Night Menu: Daily from 9:00 PM – close
Two Must Have Items: Nine Wing Combo (Happy Hour Menu) and 12 Wings or 8 Tenders (Late Night Menu)
