SeaTac is around 15 miles south of downtown Seattle, and is served by a convenient light rail connection into downtown. Airport hotels can offer significant cost savings versus downtown hotels due to the longer distance (approximately 15 miles) to Seattle’s downtown and attractions such as Pike Place Market and Pioneer Square. Nearby to SeaTac, cities such as Renton and Federal Way offer hotels convenient to the airport, together with discount shopping including the Seattle area’s only Ikea discount furniture store and huge Southcenter shopping mall.
